CRUEL JOYS

The complex and tragic relationship of a maturing girl and her ambitious father is set in a simple yet impressive setting of picturesque countryside – seemingly isolated from the world, from any significant historical, political or social events. The arrival of an unwelcomed guest sparks of an initially subtle, later suppressed and finally an open and cruel drama in the lives of this provincial community. It uncovers the veil of serious and organized life, it excavates passions, suppressed and duly hidden away emotions and an array of different forms of love from the relationships of those involved.
